First boss implemented

• Added the Laser Boss, who shoots a large laser beam every X seconds, similar to mirror shield

Spawn behaviour changes

• More spawn points have been added to make enemy spawning more challenging
• Added more different wave variants past wave 10

Balance changes

• Shotgun fire rate increased to incentivize using them
• Chain Lightning fire rate increased to make it usable without other powerups
• Machine gun fire rate decreased to make gameplay more interesting
• Enemy health and speed values adjusted to make gameplay smoother and more interesting

UI Improvements

• UI backgrounds display more cleanly on a wider range of display resolutions
• Blocked off unreachable areas from the game view to help narrow the player’s view to the action
• All relevant game timers now have a UI display
• 2-player UI elements now display on the correct side of the screen
• Fixed character selection text not matching what characters are selected, particularly in singleplayer
• General UI cleanliness improvements

Quality of Life

• Score multipliers now stack, allowing for more exciting gameplay
• Camera shake has been majorly readjusted, making more important kills feel more important than smaller ones. A max camera shake has also been implemented to prevent the screen from shaking for multiple seconds after a kill.
• Added “Last Man Standing” feature, allowing a dead player to be respawned even if they ran out of lives when a boss is defeated
• Intensified background parallax speed during boss fights to make them more intense

General bug fixes

• Fixed powerups being destroyed after defeating the boss
• Fixed music swapping randomly mid-boss-fight
• Fixed various audio inconsistency issues
• When playing Sword & Shield, Mirror Shield now always spawns above Glass Cannon, letting them actually shield them from incoming fire.
• “Friendly Fire” in Mirror Match has been fixed
• Score and score multiplier are now properly capped at 999,999,999
